Create and Organize Video Channels
A channel is an embeddable video collection for presenting a gallery, playlist, course sequence, or curated library. The Dashboard labels this surface Legacy Channels because Projects are the main organization model for new work, while existing channels remain available for compatible publishing workflows.
Choose a channel workflow
Simple mode creates a straightforward channel from existing published videos. Advanced mode adds sections and lets each section use its own source and ordering behavior. A section can select videos dynamically from a project or use manual selection for a precise sequence.
Channel guides
- How to Create Video Channels — configure Simple or Advanced mode, save, and obtain the embed after creation.
- How to Sort Videos in a Channel — choose a supported field and direction for one section.
- Custom Video Order in Your Channel — add published videos to a manual section in the exact sequence viewers should see.
Plan the content before editing
- Publish the source videos in their projects first.
- Decide whether each section should update dynamically or remain curated.
- Use meaningful titles and descriptions for viewer navigation.
- Choose sorting for dynamic sections and insertion order for manual sections.
- Confirm your user has permission to manage channels.
Save and verify the public result
Save the channel before expecting its share URL or embed code, because the channel key is created on the first successful save. Open the public result and verify section order, video order, thumbnails, titles, playback, and mobile behavior. When changing a live channel, check the published page rather than relying only on the editor preview.
Use channels with other DynTube controls
Channel presentation does not replace video-level playback security. Configure allowed origins, signed links, encryption, DRM, or subscriber access in the appropriate video and project workflows, then test the channel embed from its production website.
