Evaluation

Test DynTube against your own library

Run a structured evaluation on the content, pages and audience conditions you actually have. The evidence policy below explains what qualifies for publication, and the test plan turns playback, access, reporting and integration into checks you can repeat before committing.

Evidence policy

How evidence qualifies for publication

Customer evidence is useful when a reader can identify its source, context and date. We apply that standard to quotes, ratings, logos, awards and performance figures before they appear on this page.

  • Quotes and ratings require an attributable, approved source plus the context needed to interpret them.
  • Customer counts, logo use and awards require current permission and a recorded evidence source.
  • Uptime, performance, savings and support-response figures require a defined measurement and date.
  • Comparison claims cite provider documentation and show their evidence boundary.
  • For an outside view, evaluate current third-party reviews directly alongside the product test below.

If you find a claim without the source or conditions needed to assess it, send us the page through the contact form so it can be reviewed.

The evaluation

A test plan you can run in an afternoon

Six steps on real content. It will tell you more than any page of quotes, and every step works during a free trial.

  1. 01

Upload your worst-case video, not your best one

Pick the longest, highest-motion, most awkward file you actually publish — not the polished thirty-second clip. Processing time and delivery cost are both decided by the hard cases, so evaluate those.

  2. 02

Embed it where it would really live

Put the player on a real page in your own site, with your own layout and CSS around it, rather than on a blank test page. Most embedding surprises are layout and origin surprises, and a blank page hides both.

  3. 03

Turn the access controls on and try to break them

Restrict playback to your origin, then open the embed URL somewhere else and confirm it fails. Issue a signed link, let it expire, and confirm it stops working. A control you have not personally defeated is a control you have not tested.

  4. 04

Watch it on a bad connection

Throttle to something like a weak mobile connection and watch a few minutes. Start-up time and rebuffering under stress are what your audience will actually judge, and they are invisible on office wifi.

  5. 05

Read the analytics and ask your real question of it

Test plays, watch time, completion and audience rollups against a real question. On Plus and larger plans, also pass your own user ID or email address in the embed and verify the per-user report your workflow needs.

  6. 06

Make one API call from your own code

Authenticate and list your projects. Five minutes of that tells you more about whether the integration will be pleasant than any amount of documentation reading.

Ask us anything here

The questions worth putting to any vendor, including us

Ask these in writing, of every platform on your shortlist. The answers — and how quickly a vendor is willing to give them — are more informative than the answers alone.

What exactly does my plan include?
Entitlements are where evaluation and reality diverge. A feature that exists in the product is not necessarily a feature you have bought.
On DynTube — Current plans and inclusions come from the live catalogue on our pricing page. Protection modes, watermarking and branding are entitlement-dependent, and we will confirm your specific case in writing.
What does the protection not stop?
Any vendor can list what their security does. The useful question is the inverse, and the answer tells you how straight the rest of the conversation will be.
On DynTube — Screen recording cannot be prevented on a general-purpose computer, by us or anyone else. Watermarking makes a leak traceable rather than impossible. Live segment encryption is available for eligible streams and plans rather than for every stream.
What happens when I exceed my allowance?
Every platform is affordable until a campaign works. Find out the shape of that conversation before you need to have it.
On DynTube — Delivery bands and fair-use boundaries are published. Ask us before a launch and we will tell you how your band behaves rather than surprising you afterwards.
How do I get my content back out?
Exit terms tell you how a vendor thinks about the relationship. Ask on the way in, not on the way out.
On DynTube — Your source media stays yours. Ask us about bulk retrieval for your library size and we will answer specifically rather than in principle.
Who answers when something breaks?
Support quality is real, and it is also the thing vendors are most tempted to embellish.
On DynTube — Describe the support coverage your workflow needs and ask us for the response-time or support-hours commitment available for your case in writing.

Before you spend the afternoon

Match the platform to your operating model

Use these requirements to decide which workflow to test and when a publisher or event platform belongs on the shortlist.

  • You need per-viewer marketing data

Use aggregate reporting for content trends, or on Plus and larger plans pass your own lead ID or email address for per-user viewing reports that your CRM workflow can consume.

  • Advertising is how the video earns

Evaluate a publisher platform built around ad insertion, recommendation engines and OTT monetisation, then compare its audience and revenue workflow directly.

  • You are selling access to live events

For paid live events, gate the viewing page and confirm stream-level encryption, access, scheduling and retention for the selected plan before selling tickets.

  • Map an uncertain requirement

Tell us the audience, access, revenue and delivery workflow you need, and ask for the supported arrangement in writing before starting the evaluation.

Run the test, then decide

An afternoon on your own worst-case video produces evidence about playback, access, reporting and integration that your team can review directly.
