Audio for courses

Let learners listen on the walk home —without leaving your course

Lectures, case discussions and revision audio belong in the lesson, beside the reading and the quiz. DynTube streams the audio into your course pages with a transcript alongside, plays it only on the domains you allow while your LMS decides who is enrolled, and reports plays, listening time and completion for each recording.

The short answer

Why host course audio separately from video?

Much of a course is talk: lectures, interviews, worked explanations. Hosting it as audio gives learners a lighter stream they can follow on a commute, a player built for listening with a transcript beside it, and you a listening report per lesson. Where your plan includes video as audio, a recorded lecture can be published as both.

How it works

What a learner gets, and what you control

Each item depends on a project setting, so you decide what a lesson shows.

Audio that streams, not a file to downloadEvery upload
Recordings are processed into audio-only HLS streams that adapt to the learner’s connection. A download control appears only if you switch it on for the project.
A transcript beside the playerProject allows it, a track exists
Attach a caption track you already have, or request transcription as a separate metered step. Learners can open the transcript panel to revise without replaying.
A player shaped for the lessonNine skins
A slim strip between paragraphs, a waveform learners can scrub, or a vertical card for mobile-first lessons. The speed control is on by default for learners who prefer to listen faster.
Kept to your course pagesDomain rules and private links
List your course domain so the embed plays only there—your LMS still decides who can open the lesson. Send private links to cohorts outside the LMS, and rotate or revoke a link when a cohort ends.
Listening reports per lessonWhen telemetry is available
Plays, listening time, completion rate and unique listeners per recording, so you can see which lectures are finished and which are abandoned.
Lectures as video and audioWhere enabled
Where your plan includes video as audio, publish an audio-only rendition of a recorded lecture so the same lesson can be watched or listened to.

In your LMS

How do I add audio to a course lesson?

The same no-plugin path as video: if a lesson field accepts HTML, it accepts the player.

  1. 01

Create an audio project for the course

Set the content class to speech, pick a skin, and switch on the transcript panel and speed control.

  2. 02

    Add your course domain

List the domain your LMS runs on so the embed plays there and declines elsewhere.

  3. 03

    Upload the lecture

Use the dashboard or the API, and attach a caption track or request transcription.

  4. 04

Paste the embed into the lesson

Use a Custom HTML block or any lesson field that accepts an embed. Platform-specific pages: LearnDash, LifterLMS, LearnPress, Tutor LMS, MasterStudy LMS.

Questions

Course audio questions

Do I need a plugin to put audio in my LMS?

No. The audio player is an iframe embed, so a Custom HTML block or any lesson field that accepts an embed will show it. If you use a domain list, add your LMS domain first.

Can learners download the lectures?

Only if you allow it. Audio streams through the player by default, and the download control appears only when you switch it on for the project.

Can learners read along?

Yes, where the project allows a transcript and the recording has a caption track. Learners open the transcript panel beside the player. You can supply the track or request transcription as a separate metered step.

Can learners subscribe in a podcast app?

Not from this page’s workflow. DynTube course audio plays inside your lessons and through private links. Podcast-app feeds are not offered as a course feature today.

Which plans include audio?

Audio is a plan-gated product with limits on count, minutes, file size and storage. Check the audio limits of the plan you are considering on the pricing page.

Put one lecture in one lesson this week

Upload a recording, paste the embed into a real lesson, and read the listening report after your next cohort.
