Private audio hosting
Private audio should stay where you put it
Board briefings, paid lessons and internal training belong on your pages, for your people. DynTube keeps audio off public listings, streams it rather than handing out a file, and lets you cut off a shared link the moment it travels too far.

The short answer
What is private audio hosting?
Private audio hosting stores recordings where only the people you choose can play them. With DynTube, audio is never published to a public directory; it plays through private links or embeds on domains you approve, streams as audio-only HLS rather than a downloadable file, and every link can be rotated or revoked when access should end.
It is the opposite of a podcast directory, whose job is reach. Private hosting is for audio whose value depends on who hears it: course content, member updates, legal or medical briefings, and internal training.
The controls
How does DynTube keep audio private?
Four layers, each one a setting you can see and change.
- No public listingEvery audio asset
- Audio is not listed anywhere public. It plays only through an embed you place or a link you share.
- Private links you can rotate or revokePer recording
- Share a private link that grants playback without a public page. If it is forwarded, rotate it to issue a new one, or revoke it so the old link stops working.
- Embeds limited to your domainsAccount domain list
- List the sites allowed to embed your player. When a list is in place, the embed checks the page it is on and declines to play anywhere else—including when it cannot tell which page that is.
- Streamed, and encrypted where you chooseProject playback protection
- Audio is delivered as audio-only HLS segments rather than one downloadable file. Set the project’s playback protection to encrypted HLS and the segments are AES-128 encrypted, with keys issued only to authorised playback.
Sample data: one private audio project
- Playback protection: encrypted HLS
- Allowed domains: learn.northbank.com.au
- Private link issued to the board
- Download control off
Why not just a file link?
Is a shared-drive link good enough for private audio?
A file link answers “where is it?” Private hosting also answers “who can play it, from where, and until when?”
Without control
A file on a shared drive
Simple, until the link is forwarded.
- Anyone with the link downloads the whole file
- Revoking access usually means moving the file
- No idea who listened or how far
- Plays in whatever app the listener has
On your own terms
Private audio on DynTube
Access you can tighten without re-uploading.
- Streams through your player; downloads only where you allow them
- Rotate or revoke a link in one step
- Plays, listening time and completion per recording
- Embeds only on the domains you list
Who it is for
Secure audio hosting for audio that should not travel
Courses and coaching
Lesson audio embedded in the course on your domain, so a copied embed code plays nowhere else.
Members and staff
Internal briefings and training behind your own login, with a link you can revoke when someone leaves.

Questions
Private audio questions
Straight answers, including the limits.
Can private audio be recorded by a listener?
Yes, and no audio host can honestly promise otherwise: anyone allowed to hear audio can record it on another device. DynTube’s controls decide who can play it, where and for how long, which is what reduces unauthorised sharing in practice.
What happens if a private link is forwarded?
Rotate the link to issue a new one and send it to the people who should still have access, or revoke it so it stops working. You do not need to re-upload the recording.
Can listeners download my audio?
Audio streams as HLS segments through the player rather than as a single file. A download control appears only if you switch it on for the project.
Is my audio encrypted?
It can be. Set the project’s playback protection to encrypted HLS and its audio segments are AES-128 encrypted, with keys issued only to authorised playback. It is a per-project choice, so check the setting rather than assuming it.
Which audio files can I host privately?
Common source formats such as WAV and MP3 are accepted and processed into audio-only streams. Audio counts, minutes, file size and storage are plan limits, so check the plan you are considering on the pricing page.
Lock down one recording before you move the rest
Upload a real file, limit it to your domain, share a private link, then revoke it and watch it stop. That is the whole test.
