Audio hosting

Audio hosting for your own sites and apps

Upload lectures, briefings, music or spoken-word audio once, and have it play inside your own pages through the same player, access rules and reporting you use for video—without sending listeners to a directory or an advertising-funded app.

The basics

What audio hosting is, and how it differs from a podcast directory

Audio hosting stores your audio files on infrastructure built to stream them, prepares them for playback across devices and connections, and gives you a player and an embed so the listening experience is consistent on every page you place it. Serving a large audio file from an ordinary web host works until more than a handful of people press play at once.

A podcast directory or a public audio app solves a different problem: reach. It takes your audio into its own surface, with its own advertising, recommendations and listener data. Hosting audio yourself keeps the page, the branding, the access rules and the reporting on your side of the line—which is what businesses, educators and publishers with an existing audience usually need.

DynTube treats audio as a native product rather than a video with a black screen. Audio has its own projects, its own processing into audio-only streams, and the same player, embed, private-link and analytics model as video and live streaming, so one team learns one workflow for all three.

The mechanism

What happens to an audio file you upload

The pipeline, described as far as the current product verifies it—and no further.

Upload into an audio projectIngest
Common source formats such as WAV and MP3 are accepted through the dashboard or the API into an audio project, which carries the settings every asset in it inherits. Audio counts, minutes and file size are plan limits.
Processing into audio-only streamsProcessing
Each upload is probed and converted into audio-only HLS renditions, so playback adapts to the listener’s connection instead of downloading one large file. A project marks its content as speech or music so processing can treat it appropriately.
Playback through the shared playerDelivery
The DynTube player presents audio with artwork, an optional waveform and captions or lyrics where your project enables them, and the embed works wherever your site or course platform accepts an HTML embed.
Private linksAccess
Share an audio asset through a private link that grants playback without a public listing, and rotate or revoke that link when it should stop working.
Listening reportsMeasurement
When telemetry is available, reporting shows plays, listening time, completion rate and unique listeners per asset, alongside your video and live reports.
Transcription and translationSeparate metered workflow
Transcripts and translations are produced as a separate metered processing step—the same model as automatic subtitles for video—rather than as part of every upload.

  • Artwork set at the project, overridable per asset
  • Waveform and captions shown in the player
  • Private links enabled for enrolled listeners

What you can do

Audio capabilities, described within their configuration

Each item names the setting it depends on, so the page never promises a universal behaviour.

Start with one file

Test audio hosting with one real recording

You do not need to move a catalogue to evaluate the product.

  1. 01

    Create an audio project

Choose speech or music, set artwork and decide whether the waveform and captions show in the player.

  2. 02

    Upload one file

Use the dashboard or the API. Processing prepares the audio-only streams for you.

  3. 03

Embed it, or share a private link

Place the embed on a page you own, or hand a private link to the people who should hear it.

  4. 04

    Read the listening report

See plays, listening time and completion for that one asset before you decide about the rest.

Questions

Audio hosting questions

Direct answers, each within the current product boundary.

Is DynTube a podcast host?

No. DynTube hosts audio for playback on your own sites and apps through your own player. It does not submit your audio to podcast directories or syndicate it to third-party apps, and this page makes no monetisation claim.

Which audio formats can I upload?

Common source formats such as WAV and MP3 are accepted, and every upload is processed into audio-only HLS renditions for playback. If a specific format matters to you, test it with one file during the trial rather than relying on a list.

Is audio included in every plan?

Audio hosting is a feature-gated product with plan-limited counts, minutes, file size and storage share. The pricing page renders the current catalogue; confirm the audio limits of the plan you are considering rather than assuming them.

Can I keep audio private?

Yes. Audio is not publicly listed anywhere by default, and private links grant playback to a chosen audience and can be rotated or revoked. Access controls reduce unauthorised redistribution; they cannot stop an authorised listener recording what they hear.

What listening analytics do I get?

When telemetry is available, reporting shows plays, listening time, completion rate and unique listeners per audio asset, in the same reporting model as your video and live streams.

Can DynTube transcribe or translate my audio?

Transcription and translation are available as a separate metered processing step, not as part of every upload—the same model as automatic subtitles for video. You can also attach caption or lyric tracks you already have.

Try it with one recording and one page you own

Upload a real file, embed it, share a private link, and read the listening report. That is the whole product, tested on your own content.
