Tips and tricks

Control the Video Player with URL Parameters

Add supported query parameters to the generated iframe URL when one page needs playback behavior that differs from the stored player defaults. Keep the generated host and embed key unchanged, encode parameter values, and test the final URL in the actual page.

Example

Responsive player URL
https://dyn.tube/embed/video/YOUR_EMBED_KEY?playerId=dyntube-YOUR_EMBED_KEY&autoplay=1&muted=1&loop=1&t=9

Muted autoplay is more widely accepted by browsers than autoplay with sound. Browser policy still decides whether playback may start, so keep a visible play control as the fallback.

Build URLs safely

  • Use URLSearchParams or your framework's URL tools rather than joining raw strings.
  • Encode watermark text and never place secrets or unnecessary personal data in the URL.
  • Keep signed playback parameters intact when adding presentation options.
  • Use one stable playerId when attaching the v2 SDK to the iframe.
  • Treat browser autoplay and picture-in-picture policies as runtime behavior to test.

Troubleshooting

If an option appears ignored, first test a fresh Dashboard-generated iframe with only that parameter. Confirm the spelling and value, remove cached legacy URLs, and check whether the project's player preset or browser policy governs the same behavior. Then add other parameters back one at a time.
