Tips and tricks
Add a Dynamic Watermark to the Video Player
Dynamic watermarking overlays text supplied for a playback session, helping deter capture and associate a leaked recording with a viewer or session. Enable the entitled video or project option, then pass a carefully chosen label through the current embed URL.
Enable the feature
- Open the video's Options tab or the project's Video Options defaults.
- Enable Dynamic watermark when it is available for the account.
- Check other watermark settings so the intended mode is selected.
- Save and confirm the new state before changing the embed.
Add watermark text to the iframe URL
<iframe
src="https://dyn.tube/embed/video/YOUR_EMBED_KEY?playerId=dyntube-YOUR_EMBED_KEY&watermark=Viewer%20123"
title="Protected training video"
allow="autoplay; fullscreen; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture"
allowfullscreen></iframe>Build the URL with URLSearchParams so spaces and other characters are encoded. A stable internal viewer or session reference is often safer than exposing unnecessary personal information. Keep the mapping to the real account in your trusted application.
WordPress example
<?php
$viewer_label = 'Member ' . get_current_user_id();
$src = 'https://dyn.tube/embed/video/YOUR_EMBED_KEY';
$query = http_build_query([
'playerId' => 'dyntube-YOUR_EMBED_KEY',
'watermark' => $viewer_label,
]);
?>
<iframe src="<?php echo esc_url($src . '?' . $query); ?>" title="Protected member video" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" allowfullscreen></iframe>Generate the label only after WordPress has authenticated the viewer. Escape the complete URL before output and avoid putting email addresses or other personal data into page caches shared between members.
Verify the protection workflow
- Confirm different authorized sessions receive their intended labels.
- Check that the watermark remains readable on desktop, mobile, and fullscreen playback.
- Test page and CDN caching so one viewer's label cannot be served to another.
- Pair watermarking with signed links, allowed origins, authentication, and encryption or DRM as required.
