LearnDash video hosting
LearnDash video hosting that keeps lessons on your site
Keep LearnDash for enrolment, progress and certificates. Serve the lesson video from DynTube instead of your WordPress host—adaptive streaming, your own player, optional delivery controls and lesson-level reporting, added with one embed code.

- 04
Check it as a learner
What changes
What changes when the lesson video comes from DynTube
The LMS keeps running the course. The video stops being a heavy file on your WordPress host and becomes a stream with its own controls.
- Adaptive streaming, off your WordPress serverDelivery
- Lessons are processed into adaptive HLS and served from DynTube, so a class pressing play at the same time does not land on your web host, and each learner gets a quality that suits their connection.
- Your player, without someone else’s brandPlayer
- The embed plays through the DynTube player with no third-party ads or recommendations. Appearance and behaviour options are configurable per project.
- Delivery controls where you switch them onProtection
- Encrypted on-demand HLS and the list of domains the player may load on are optional, plan-dependent project settings. They raise the effort needed to lift a lesson; no setting makes a video impossible to copy.
- Captions you attachAccessibility
- Upload WebVTT or SRT captions per language. Automatic captions are a separate, metered workflow.
- Lesson-level reportingMeasurement
- Views, watch time, completion, geography and device per lesson, where your plan includes analytics. Learner-level detail appears only when your site passes its own learner identifier to the player.
Working with LearnDash
What to know before you switch LearnDash lessons
Configuration guidance, so nothing surprises you after the move.
Video Progression stays with LearnDash’s supported sources
LearnDash’s Video Progression reads time data from the players it supports. A DynTube embed in a Custom HTML block is not one of them, so use LearnDash’s own Mark Complete or quiz gating for progression.
Course access is LearnDash’s job
LearnDash decides who can open the lesson. DynTube adds delivery controls on the video itself—optional encrypted HLS and the domains the player may load on—when your plan and project are configured for them.
Questions
LearnDash video hosting questions
Does a DynTube video work with LearnDash Video Progression?
Not as a supported source. Video Progression depends on reading playback time from players LearnDash supports. Embed DynTube in the lesson body and gate progress with LearnDash’s Mark Complete button, a quiz or an assignment instead.
Do I need a DynTube plugin?
No. DynTube does not publish a WordPress plugin. You paste the embed code DynTube gives you into the lesson, which keeps your site free of another plugin to update.
Will this stop students downloading my lessons?
It makes it harder, not impossible. Optional encrypted HLS and domain restrictions stop the simple routes—right-click saving a file or reusing your embed on another site—when they are enabled. Anything a learner can watch can still be recorded.
Do I have to move every course at once?
No. Move one lesson, check it as a learner and compare it with what you have today. Lessons you have not moved keep playing from wherever they are now.
Move one LearnDash lesson and watch it as a student
Upload one real lesson, paste the embed, and compare it with what your learners see today.
