Projects

Delete a Project

This endpoint removes a project from the authenticated account. Treat project deletion as a destructive workflow: inventory the project first, move every video that must remain available, update dependent automation, and preserve the identifiers needed for your audit record.

Request

HTTP
DELETE https://api.dyntube.com/v1/projects/{id}
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY
Path parameter
NameTypeRequiredDescription
idStringYesProject ID owned by the authenticated account

Prepare the deletion

  1. Get the project with the same account credential and confirm its name and ID.
  2. List videos assigned to the project and move every video that must remain available.
  3. Find application jobs, uploads, webhooks, TV feeds, and internal records that reference the project.
  4. Update public embeds or workflows that depend on content remaining in this project.
  5. Require an explicit confirmation in your own administration interface before sending DELETE.

JavaScript example

Server-side JavaScript
const projectId = encodeURIComponent(input.projectId);
const response = await fetch(
  `https://api.dyntube.com/v1/projects/${projectId}`,
  {
    method: "DELETE",
    headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.DYNTUBE_API_KEY}` },
  },
);

if (response.status === 404) {
  throw new Error("Project was not found for this account");
}
if (!response.ok) {
  throw new Error(`Project deletion failed: ${response.status}`);
}

console.log("Project deletion accepted");

Response and verification

  • 200 OK with an empty body means the matching project was marked deleted.
  • 404 Not Found means no matching project was visible to the authenticated account.
  • After 200, request the project again and refresh the project list to verify it is unavailable.
  • Verify moved videos and affected playback separately; the empty response is not an inventory of downstream work.
  • Record the project ID, actor, request time, response status, and your pre-deletion inventory.
